RCC Prevention programs exist to educate children on personal safety.

LIST OF PROGRAMS OFFERED IN 2018:

Digital Citizenship 

This multi-session curriculum is designed to empower students to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibility in our digital world. 

Time commitment : Lessons are 45 minutes for K-2, Grade 3-5, Grade 6-8, Grade 9-12

Safer, Smarter Kids
The Safer, Smarter Kids personal safety program empowers children with tools that are not only protective from abuse, but also important esteem and safety issues such as bullying, Internet safety and empowerment. In Safer, Smarter Kids (K-3*), students are taught to identify "safe" and "unsafe" situations, people and secrets.

Time Commitment : Lessons are approximately 30 minutes for Kindergarten and 45 minutes for Grade 1-5.

In schools that have an anti-bullying program, bullying is reduced by 50%.

Second Step Bullying Prevention Unit

This four session bullying prevention program is designed to develop students' skills for recognizing, reporting, and refusing bullying and to foster a climate of safety and respect for all. Students will learn how to follow rules; recognize, report, and refuse bullying, and be an active bystander who helps stop bullying. 

Time commitment : Lessons are 30 minutes for Grade K-3 and approximately 45 minutes for Grade 4-5.

Single Session Presentations 

Prevention by RCC will now offer single session programming utilizing lessons from the Rights, Respect, and Responsibility K-12 curriculum. 

Rights, Respect, Responsibility is a collection of lesson plans on a wide range of topics including: self-understanding, family, growth, and development, friendship gender roles, life skills, and health promotion. Its lessons are age-appropriate, beginning with basic lessons and introducing more complex concepts as students age. A list of grade appropriate topics and session objectives are available upon request.

Time commitment: Lessons are 45 minutes in Grades K-5.
