The Mission of the Rape Crisis Center is to
provide resources and advocacy to victims of rape and sexual assault, and prevention education to youth and adults.
As an organization that envisions a culture free of violence, we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the acts of violence that are occurring across our nation. The Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire recognizes that violence in all forms, including sexual violence, is rooted in oppression and there is much work still to be done. Our role is to advocate for those individuals who may not have a voice, who may feel scared or unsure, or who might just need someone to sit beside them and care. We stand in solidarity with marginalized communities as we seek equity and justice for all human lives. Now, more than ever, it is critical that we condemn injustice, speak out against racism, educate ourselves, and listen to one another.
At a time when non-profit organizations continue to serve under the most extreme circumstances, the Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire remains mobilized to support survivors of sexual violence. For over 44 years, we have made it our mission to provide resources and advocacy to victims of rape and sexual assault, and prevention education to youth and adults. During these challenging times, our staff continues to work hard and remains dedicated to providing SANE exams, advocacy, counseling, and creative prevention programming.
As millions of Americans are asked to stay home with "shelter in place orders," we recognize that that this can lead to a rise in sexual violence. The Rape Crisis Center of the Coastal Empire is here for you. If you need support, have questions or just need to talk, please call our 24/7 crisis line to talk with an advocate.
